The packs include a personalised race number with time-recording chip on the back, baggage label, t-shirt voucher and details on how to download the 2019 Race Day Guide.

The annual race, which will take place on Sunday, September 22, is now sold out. Around 5,000 runners will take part.

Swansea Council organises the event which is being sponsored by Admiral for the 14th consecutive year. As well as the 10k, there are 1k and 3k races for juniors, a 10k wheelchair race and a charity mascot 100m dash.

Cllr Robert Francis-Davies, the council's cabinet member for innovation, regeneration and tourism, said: "The delivery of race packs means that excitement will really be mounting for runners.

"The Admiral Swansea Bay 10k is a terrific race for elite athletes, charity fundraisers and people looking to tackle their personal bests or conquer personal fitness goals.

"It's set against the beautiful sweep of Swansea Bay on a flat course, I'm delighted that thousands of runners have registered.

"Those who take part are wholly positive about the experience thanks to the quality of the race's organisation and management, and the support they receive from hundreds of spectators.

"The event is part of the rich culture of our city and this year's will be extra special as it takes place in the year that marks our first half century of city status."

The Admiral Swansea Bay 10k was named the best 10k race in Wales in the 2019 Running Awards.

The mascot race is still open for entries. These are invited from groups, organisations and companies looking to win the £100 on offer for the winning mascot.

On the big day, spectators are welcome from 8.30am. Junior races will take place from 9.15am-10am, the main 10k starts at 11am and the mascot race starts at 11.10am. All start from outside the St Helen's rugby ground.
